Breaking Glass Pictures has announced the August 16th AVOD release of SubHysteria 2026, an expanded version of the acclaimed 2010 indie thriller. Available on Tubi and other AVOD platforms, this film, directed by Leonard Zelig, traps sixteen strangers in a New York City subway car with no escape and no contact with the outside world. As days pass, fear and desperation transform the group, offering an unfiltered look at human behavior under extreme conditions.
What makes SubHysteria unique is its improvisational approach, allowing actors to develop their own dialogue within the story's framework. This new version updates the original film while maintaining its core experiment of observing ordinary people in extraordinary situations. CEO Richard Wolff highlights the film's raw quality, noting its immediate and authentic character reactions.
The film features a talented cast, including Osvaldo Benavides, Ginger Kroll, Sally Gifford, Hwalan Shub, Elaiza Gil, Isabella Cascarano, Estelle Bajou, and Maceo Terrero. Produced by Roberto Alcazar, Mario Domina, Javier Perez-Karam, and Pilar de Posadas, SubHysteria 2026 invites a new generation of audiences to experience its intense and unpredictable narrative.
